About the Winery:

Laetitia Billiot is the fourth generartion to estate bottle Champagnes at this domaine in the Grand Cru Village of Ambonnay. Her Great Grandfather Louis Billiot bottled small amounts of wine, but it was his son and Laetitia’s Grandfather Henri that created estate today. Laetitia’s father Serge took over in 1954 quickly establishing himself as a top producer, producing a range of wines from his Grand Cru holdings in Ambonnay. Today, Laetitia continues the tradition, working 5 hectares in Ambonnay. Of the 18 parcels that Billiot works, all but one of them are mid slope, in the most desirable sections of this famous village. “The wines of Ambonnay are very vinous, with a lot of strength,” says Laetitia Billiot,“but they are also very fine, with delicacy and finesse. They stay fresh for
a long time.”

The wines are pressed in traditional vertical basket presses and vinified in stainless steel, Apart from one barrel fermented vintage wine, called “Cuvee Julie”. The wines don’t see Mal: “We have 100-percent grand cru vines, which always give a high degree of maturity, so we don’t need the malo.” Says Laetitia. The wines are also never stabilized or filtered prior to bottling.

Ratings & Reviews

90 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:

"The NV Champagne Brut Rosé is 80% Pinot Noir (10% vin rouge from 2016) and the remainder Chardonnay. It is lifted with a perfume of strawberries and cream, peach rings, and fresh flowers, and the palate is medium-bodied and refreshing, with an energetic mousse and a clean, modest finish. More tangerine citrus and a bit of salinity appear on the finish. This is a lovely entry rosé to drink over the next 10 years." - Audrey Frick (November 2022)

90 Points - Wine Advocate:

"Disgorged in May 2018, the latest release of the NV Brut Rosé Grand Cru offers up notes of smoky red apples, Griotte cherries and mandarin. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, powerful and vinous, with ripe acids, a youthfully frothy mousse and a tangy, mouthwatering finish. This is a gastronomic rosé—dominated by Pinot Noir from Ambonnay—that would work well at table." - William Kelley (April 2019)

90 Points - Wine Spectator:
" Well-knit, with fresh acidity and a subtle tang of salinity married to flavors of wild strawberry, nectarine, chalk and pickled ginger set on a lacy mousse. Disgorged March 2022. Drink now. 250 cases imported." - Alison Napjus (November 2022)

90 Points - Vinous:
"The NV Brut Rosé (80% Pinot Noir/20% Chardonnay) is bold, forward and perhaps a bit hearty in feel, but certainly enjoyable. It is a vinous Champagne for the dinner table. Bright red-toned fruit, chalk, mint and white pepper emerge with some coaxing. All things considered, this is nicely done. Dosage is 6-7 grams per liter. Disgorged: March 22, 2023" - Antonio Galloni (November 2023)
