About the winery:

BARICCI VINEYARDS ARE ENTIRELY LOCATED ON THE MONTOSOLI HILL, WHICH IS ONE OF THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS AREA IN MONTALCINO FOR WINE MAKING AND ONE OF THE FIRST CRU EVER CREATED AND RECOGNIZED IN THAT REGION.

TASTING NOTES: Deep ruby red color. The bouquet on the nose is rich and complex with aromas of violets, red berries, such as raspberry and red currant, and a fresh hint of red orange. On the palate it is dry, fresh, full- bodied with smooth tannins. Very long and tasty finish, with a pleasant minerality and flavors of violets and berries.

FOOD PAIRINGS: Ideal with first dishes with meat sauce, soups, roasted and grilled red meats. Excellent with tasty and seasoned cheeses.

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Vinous:
"The 2021 Rosso di Montalcino opens with a dark and woodsy blend of wild herbs, crushed rocks and peppery wild berries. This soothes with its elegant textures and plaint red fruits, taking on a floral tinge of violets and lavender through the tension-filled finale. It finishes staining and long, still so young and backward. It ends with a cheek-puckering sensation and hints of autumnal spice." - Eric Guido (November 2023)

89 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The Baricci 2021 Rosso di Montalcino is an easy wine with a mishmash of aromas that include dark fruit, wet stone, cigar ash and black licorice. There is a hint of fruit bitterness on the close. The wine starts off in stainless steel and moves over to Slavonian oak casks for brief aging. Fruit comes from the estate's youngest vines and only 8,700 bottles were created. This is the second bottling, and I think we can expect better results in the future as this Rosso program takes shape." - Monica Larner (December 2023)
