Distillery Notes:

Bardstown Bourbon Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish is a bespoke blend of straight bourbon and rye whiskey, aged for an additional 32 months in Single Malt Scotch whisky barrels – sourced from the remote Isle of Jura. Finished in a combination of 84% ex-bourbon and 16% ex-Sherry barrels previously filled with Scotch, this 104 proof whiskey layers rich caramel and baking spice with ripe fruit, soft malt, and rounded complexity. This singular whiskey journeyed from this remote Scottish island (with one road, just 250 residents, and incidentally where George Orwell wrote 1984), to the Bourbon Capital of the World – Bardstown, KY.Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish was awarded Best American Whiskey at the 2026 IWSC Awards with a score of 99 points!

Tasting Notes:

Vanilla crème with blackberry compote and mint is surrounded by toasted oak and cigar box. This leads to a palate of fresh spearmint, caramel, and light cinnamon spice. The fruit-forward sherry notes round out a beautifully complex finish.

Blend:

Indiana - 11 Yr, Corn 75% / Rye 21% / Malted Barley 4%

Indiana - 10 Yr, Rye 95% / Malted Barley 5%

Awards/Reviews:

99 Points, Best American Whiskey - IWSC 2026

" A vibrant burst of cinnamon and spiced vanilla melds seamlessly with zesty orange peels and caramel on the nose. Rich orange and nutmeg flavors unfold alongside chocolate and warm wood spices, leading to a bright, juicy finish with a lively balance of oak and sweet tang. Exceptionally well-balanced and full of character."

"A range of bright citrus, floral, and fruit notes with familiar grounding bourbon and rye flavors. Orange peel, juicy citrus, orange chocolate, dried mango, and lemon zest, plus a floral element, define the more unique side, though they remain subtle as opposed to overpowering. A hint of tobacco, various oak-driven notes, leather, cocoa, and spice provide the more classic flavor base. It’s an elegant sip that has subtle nuances and never screams Scotch finish, instead whispering it." - Breaking Bourbon
