Awards/Reviews

93 Points - Whisky Advocate:

"Baker’s has been an impressive pour since its relaunch in 2019 as a single barrel bourbon but this older, limited release pushes the label to new heights. Rich and decadent in every facet, it opens with peanut brittle, pecan pie, and baked apples dredged in brown sugar. There’s oak and a bit of barrel char, but those drier notes sing harmony to the nutty lead. Water brings out apple turnovers and banana pudding, while the finish adds a bristly kick of cinnamon spice."

93 Points - VinePair

"Compared to my 2023 bottle, this year’s Baker’s 13 is much heavier on hallmark Beam bourbon notes: roasted nuts, heavy vanilla, and hefty oak, with less pronounced components of fruit and spice. But frankly, it’s just as good, showcasing how much Baker’s barrels can vary while staying quite tasty."

Grade: A- (Drinkhacker)

"A touch of peanut and caramel corn lead the way, butterscotch and peppermint tempering the more expected fruit-driven notes of the bourbon — a classic, amply aged Jim Beam-distilled composition. The palate is refined and clean, mint notes again driving the experience alongside a classic peanut butter character. Silky milk chocolate offers a soothing and immediately dessert-like quality, while the iconic cherry notes of Baker’s are kept in reserve — present, but quiet. Baking spices are minimized while notes of brewed tea come more to the forefront of the finish. An echo of peanut butter cookie dough lingers for quite awhile, alongside a lightly tannic punch of oak."

"Summer fruit combines with caramel chews, vanilla, and a dash of cinnamon to form the base of aromas. Traces of barrel char and musty funk weave in and out, hinting towards the bourbon’s age. An immediate pop of rye spice is followed by a rush of raisins, caramel, and summer fruits. Leather, seasoned oak, and barrel char manifest beneath a layer of toasted marshmallow. It’s just the right amount of intensity and the sweet-spice-oak balance is on point. Allspice and musty oak are countered with a caramel-butterscotch sweetness. The finish becomes a bit dry as it lingers. The spice and sweet flavors serve the bourbon well, keeping the wood flavors in check while nicely showcasing the bourbon’s age. Enjoyable overall. A quintessential premium priced limited edition single barrel Kentucky bourbon that will help elevate the Baker’s Bourbon brand." - Breaking Bourbon
