About the Winery:
Third generation Dundee Hills grape grower Jim Maresh launched his own brand in 2007. Jim’s grandparents, Jim and Loie, first planted Maresh Vineyard in 1970 when Eyrie was the only other vineyard in the Dundee Hills. The Arterberry Maresh label recalls the font and label design Arterberry Winery used in the 1980s. Those who have driven up Worden Hill Road in Dundee will remember seeing the Maresh Red Barn on the left. The iconic vineyard surrounding it with 40-year old vines has always been farmed organically. If Oregon vineyards were classified like Burgundy, Maresh would certainly be a Grand Cru.

The philosophy at Arterberry Maresh adheres to old vine Dundee Hills fruit, alcohols under 14% (preferably mid 12 to lower 13%), new oak kept under 15% on Pinot, no pumping, no fining, no filtering, no acidulating, no watering. The goal is purity of fruit and naturality expressing terroir with elegance and ageworthiness.

Ratings & Reviews

95 Points - Vinous Media:
"The 2023 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills Old Vines blossoms in the glass, where balsamic-tinged black cherries mingle with dried roses, nuances of gravel dust and a hint of clove. This wine is seamless and elegant, silken in texture, with a solid core of minerals to balance citrus-infused wild berry fruits that slowly saturate the palate. It tapers off chewy and extremely long, leaving the palate water for more, all framed by regal tannins." - Eric Guido (Jul 2025)

95 Points - James Suckling:
"Beautiful cherries and redcurrants lead the way, showcasing a classic Dundee profile, with hints of red flowers and citrus peel. Bright and crunchy with a vibrant character. The texture is refined, with medium body and a compact tannin core. Succulent fruit and a mineral backbone lead to a precise and harmonious, bone-dry finish. Drink or hold." (Mar 2025)

95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2022 Vintage):

The 2022 Pinot Noir Old Vines has explosive aromas of raspberry, strawberry, tangerine, licorice, fern and amaro. The light-bodied palate is just as gregarious, bursting with fruit and spice that accent a concentrated core of berry fruit. It has a luxuriously silky texture, fireworks of fresh acidity and a very long, layered finish. 2025 - 2035

95 Points - Decanter (2022 Vintage):
A floral nose with violets and rose petals leading the way. This comes from two old vine sites in the Dundee Hills. It was not affected by the frost in 2022, winemaker Jim Maresh got to use his primary shoots, and that means the wine stays concentrated. Weber Vineyard is a quarter mile from Maresh Vineyard on Worden Hill Road. Gobs of fresh berries, savoury dried anise, and bramble fruits mark the palate.
