Winemaker Notes:
This rich Sagrantino is a great wine to be paired with roasted or grilled lamb and other meats. Black truffles, game, and aged cheeses are also lovely partners to match the tannins and body shown in the bottle.
Vintage:
The summer had a well-balanced average temperature, with a good mix of sunshine and rain that provided ideal ripening conditions for the grapes. As we head towards the end of September and October, which will be extremely favorable for the ripening of later grapes, there will be a few rainy events interspersed with clear, dry days and mild temperatures. This ideal weather condition will result in wines with excellent ripeness of the polyphenolic component and a great olfactory intensity, due to the long maturation of the grapes resulting from their optimal health.

Rating and Reviews
96 Points - Vinous Media
"The 2019 Sagrantino di Montefalco 25 Anni is imposing, grumbling up with a dark blend of dried black cherries, crushed plums, sage, allspice and sweet mint. This is texturally thrilling, velvety yet cooling, weighty yet spry, washing across the palate with polished red and black fruits and slowly building black-tea tannins. A menagerie of spices lingers along tobacco and blood orange nuances, finishing with tremendous length and concentration. The balance is absolutely fantastic. This is a stunning performance."
93 Points - Wine Enthusiast
“This darkly hued wine opens with rich aromas of macerated blackberries, preserves, pepper and clove with a hint of violets. The powerful palate is layered with black plums, dried herbs, baking spices and forest floor, all framed by classic firm Sagrantino tannins and finishing with balanced acidity.”
