About the Whiskey:
Master Distiller Owen Martin is raising the bar with Angel’s Envy Triple Oak at 92 proof (46% ABV)—the first new addition to our award-winning Signature Series lineup in over 10 years. Through experimenting with blend ratios, Owen created a traditional bourbon with a modern twist, seamlessly combining flavors from three distinct barrels sourced from around the world.
Tiple Oak starts with Angel's Envy's classic five year old Bourbon, aged in American white oak. Master distiller and blender Owen Martin then put the whiskey into a combination of second-fill French oak barrels and first-fill Hungarian oak and chinkapin barrels; ultimately, about 20% of the blend is finished in French oak, with the chinkapin and French oak accounting for about 40% each.
The artistry of Triple Oak lies in how each barrel’s character enhances the blend. The French oak brings the strongest flavor of all, providing hints of baking spices, chocolate, and cinnamon. It is complemented by the Chinkapin oak, a seasoned local Kentucky oak, which adds notes of caramel, vanilla, and a rich coffee layer. The Hungarian Oak balances the three, providing depth while uniting the finishes into one balanced flavor profile.

Awards/Reviews
"The palate is nutty, sweet, and spicy, with a hint of the woody dust and floral notes that the French oak adds to the mix. It’s a balanced bourbon, and at 92 proof there’s just a kiss of heat on the finish. An excellent addition to the Angel's Envy lineup." -Robb Report
"On the nose, you certainly get the oak-forward nature of this dram right away, with different elements of each secondary oak finish contributing their own elements. There’s a good amount of toasted wood spice, with some cinnamon, and then a deeper layer of American oak char, vanilla and a little dark chocolate. Under the wood influence there’s a slightly more youthful core bourbon profile, with caramel corn, honey and a slightly grainy impression, with hints of baked apple and stone fruit. On the palate, this leads off with woody and peppery character, although there’s a decent charge of honey and toffee sweetness present as well. Cracked pepper and mild cinnamon meld with some ginger and apple/plum-like fruitiness. It’s actually a little on the leathery side as well despite a presumed young-to-moderate age statement, suggesting a certain, “dustier” oak character that has been leeched from the wood here. It turns fairly dry on the back end, having taken on a decent amount of tannin in its secondary finishing. Triple Oak closes with more spice focus, bringing out notes of root beer, cardamom and cream soda." - Paste Magazine
