About this Wine:
The name derives from the area known all over the world for the production of fine red wines. It represents the simple but refined introduction to the world of Corvina Veronese, whose essence it expresses. Valpolicella is a wine for every day, the perfect companion to informal get-togethers.
Tasting Notes:
Ruby red in color with purplish hues, it expresses a fragrant fruity note dominated by cherry, echoed by fresher nuances of aromatic herbs.
Winemaking: The grapes undergo soft pressing, then fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Ageing is carried out in steel until mid-February, then for 2 months in the bottle.
Blend: Corvina Veronese 70%, Rondinella 30%
Harvest: Grapes are hand-picked in the second half of September
Ratings & Reviews
92 Points - James Suckling:
"Just bottled. A classic blend from a dry vintage, among the driest on record, competing with 2003. Yet the ripeness is beautifully balanced by an underlying freshness due to savvy canopy management. Sappy red to dark fruit allusions, fennel seeds and violets. The tannins, a gritty sheath of cocoa powder with a fleck of leafiness. Despite the juicy mid-weighted feel, this boasts a winning freshness. Poised, versatile and very easy to drink. A very good classico. Drink or hold." (Apr 2023)
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"The nose on this fresh Valpolicella is driven by pretty and upfront fresh floral notes followed by zippy red-berry fruit notes and hints of tobacco. The palate is lifted with fresh cherries, mixed herbs and underbrush—all well balanced—giving the wine an easiness about it yet a complexity that keeps you coming back." - Jeff Porter (October 2023)
