About This Wine:
The hill of La Grola is located in the municipality of Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella. It boasts unique geo-climatic and pedo-climatic conditions and enjoys an exceptional microclimate. Facing south-east, and therefore benefitting from excellent exposure, it is protected to the north by Monte Pastello, and enjoys the mitigating influence of nearby Lake Garda and the constant breezes coming from Monte Baldo and the Adige Valley.

Winemaker Notes:

Blend: Corvina Veronese 90%, Oseleta 10%

Harvest: Manual harvest is carried out in the second half of September

After fermentation in steel tanks with periodic daily pumping over, the wine ages in second passage French oak barriques for 16 months and in large Slavonian barrels for 2 months, followed by 10 months’ bottle ageing.

Tasting Notes:

A deep ruby red wine with great character and personality. The scent is broad and enveloping, with hints of blackcurrant, spicy notes of juniper and black pepper, combined with hints of tobacco and coffee. It is fresh and intense on the palate, with superb aromatic persistence.
