About the Winery:
In the spring of 2005, Dr. Revana began searching for both the ideal region and an experienced winemaker to produce Pinot Noirs that could rival those from Burgundy. In the Dundee Hills AVA, the heart of the Willamette Valley, Dr. Revana’s search ended and the Revana Vineyard in Oregon began.

About the Wine:
Individual barrels are selected from our small-production ‘Single Vineyard’ Pinot Noir program with the intention of seamlessly bringing together 4 distinct ‘Terroirs’ to create a unique bottling of ‘Willamette Valley’ Pinot Noir.

Each vineyard block is fermented separately in small batches with native yeasts before resting in French oak barrels for 10 months.  Each spring, Winemaker Bryan Weil selects individual barrels from each vineyard block to create a beautifully expressive and balanced version of ‘Willamette Valley’ Pinot Noir.

Ratings & Reviews

94 Points - International Wine Review:
"The 2021 Terroir Series Pinot Noir from Alexana is an extraordinary wine that showcases the complexity and nuance of Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. On the nose, it exhibits an array of aromatic aromas, including spiced red plum, cranberry sauce, crushed wild raspberry, and hoisin sauce, along with hints of cedary herbs. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with flavors of cherry cola, blood orange, and wet earth. It brings high acidity and grippy tannins, which give it a structured, long-lasting finish." - J. Young (February 2023)

93 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Vivacious and expressive, with sleek raspberry and cherry flavors laced with rose petal, orange peel and hints of forest floor as this sails on the long, supple finish. Drink now through 2030. 6,490 cases made." -TF (11/27/23)

91 Points - Decanter:
"This wine is made via separate lots, barrelled down and fermented for 10 months and then assembled as a barrel selection. Attractive aromatics of jammy berries and a hint of smoke introduce a palate of fleshy red and blue berry fruits, clove, cinnamon, and Christmas spice." - Clive Pursehouse (May 2023)

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"This is a rich, fuller-bodied Pinot Noir with something for everyone. Smoked meat, blackberries and worn saddle leather will appeal to backyard BBQ enthusiasts, while concentrated cherry, raspberry and Valencia orange flavors will appeal to the fruit followers. Gardeners rejoice—sage and thyme make appearances." - Michael Alberty (November 2023)

90 Points - Vinous:
The 2021 Pinot Noir Terroir Series blossoms in the glass as dusty rose combines hints of sour citrus and wild strawberries. Silky and supple, this displays ripe red fruits and sweet inner spices with an air of rosy inner florals toward the close. It tapers off a bit shorter than anticipated yet leaves a pleasant tension and hints of tart blackberry.
