Distillery Notes:
The 12 year-old expression is a fine example of how the distinctively crisp, citrus character of Aberlour’s new distillate is deftly softened by double cask maturation. Traditional Oak and seasoned Sherry butts are both used to great effect, as the mellowed spirits within are combined to deliver a subtly balanced flavor.
Tasting Notes:
Color: Golden amber with hints of ruby
Nose: Soft and rounded with fruity notes of red apple
Palate: A fine Sherried character, fruity aromas balanced with rich chocolate
Finish: Warm and lingering, sweet and spicy

"A refined example with well-integrated notes of toasted oak interwoven between layers of sherry, vanilla, malt and fruit flavours. Warming with hints of clove and excellent balance. Elegant and poised."

"Amber in the glass, this Scotch has a rich butterscotch aroma, with touches of fresh apple and tropical fruit. Look for dried fruit and Sherry upfront on the palate, with additional notes of vanilla and oak that hang on through the exceedingly long and rounded finish. Though it's mouthcoating and oily, it's also roughed up a bit by the high proof, giving it a drying edge on the close."

"Forest floor, dried leaves, and some light char on the nose, with hints of charcoal, drying oak tannins, and emerging notes of vanilla and banana. A sweet and lightly spiced palate, with a bit of minerality, peach, apricot, and honeyed fruits. Very full and flavorful on the finish, with a light sweetness of brown sugar, dark chocolate, and chili powder. It’s a bit light overall at 40%, but very well put together and delicious."
