About the Winery:
Graci, situated on the north slope of Mount Etna at Passopisciaro, is found in an area where viticulture dates back several thousand years. Their vineyards sit at an altitude between 600 and 1,000 meters above sea level. Planting density ranges from 6,000 to 10,000 vines per hectare. Many of the vines are still on original rootstock, ungrafted, having never been affected by the phylloxera scourge thanks to the unique nature of the volcanic soils.
At Graci, Alberto Aiello Graci remains steadfast in his respect for local traditions as well as the distinct nature of each vintage and only cultivates traditional varieties indigenous to Mount Etna: the red grapes Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, and white grapes Carricante and Catarratto.
Tasting Notes:
The Graci Etna Bianco has the mineral tension, citrus palate, and elegant finish of a world class Etna Bianco. Hints of under-ripe passion fruit and lime zest, white pepper and a full mouthfeel roll into a length, palate-wetting finish.
Ratings & Reviews
92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
Made with 85% Carricante and 15% Catarratto, the Graci 2022 Etna Bianco has a distinct mineral note that adds extra sharpness and brightness. Over the years, the percentage of Carricante has increased in the blend. This grape's salty-mineral profile takes center stage. Showing a very light golden color, the wine drinks beautifully right now. 2023-2028.
Alberto Aiello Graci is one of the protagonists of the Etna wine movement.
91 Points - James Suckling:
Lively citrus characters followed by subtle aromas of sea shells and wet stones. Medium-bodied. Flinty finish at the end. Clean and crisp. A blend of 85% carricante and 15% catarratto. Drink now.
