Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay 2024
(Napa Valley, California)

Notes from the Winemaker:
Pale yellow with a green tinge to the hue. Aromas of yellow peach, mango with a slight citrus note intertwine seamlessly with vanilla and spice. The palate is rich and round, with the mango and vanilla fighting for the lime light, while the cream texture, vanilla and slight butter combine seamlessly. The balanced acidity closes out the finish bringing the multiple components into balance.

WINEMAKING
The grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed while the fruit was still cool.
The juice was pumped to tank to cold-settle overnight before it was racked to barrel for primary and malolactic fermentation. The lees were stirred every two weeks to give the wine rich flavors and a creamy texture.

VINEYARDS
The fruit for this wine comes from vineyards in the Carneros region owned by the Rombauer family and select growers including the Sangiacomo family, long-term grower partners who have farmed this land for three generations.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Decanter (2023):
"The fruit for this Chardonnay comes from Napa and Sonoma Carneros. Barrel-fermented and aged for nine months in a mix of American and French oak, one-third of which is new. This wine impresses with its richness, creamy vanilla, and buttery brioche notes on the nose—never over the top—building into a fleshy, layered palate balanced by excellent acidity, with a pH of around 3.4 and 6.2 TA. Candied ginger peel, rich citrus, and tangerine peel lead into baked pineapple notes on a very long, saline-mineral finish—a true crowd-pleaser, perfect with roast chicken and potatoes or roast pork. Oklahoma-born and raised, Andrew Holloway began his winemaking journey as an intern at Rombauer in 2010. His talent and dedication saw him rise to assistant winemaker in 2014, and in 2023, he was named winemaker." -Jonathan Cristaldi (Feb 2025)

Lloyd Cellars Carneros Chardonnay 2023
(Napa Valley, California) - [JS 92]

Notes from the Winemaker:
Lloyd Cellars' most popular wine, known for its complexity and versatility with food. It’s a fantastic expression of a luscious, rich California Chardonnay balanced perfectly with natural acidity. 100% Chardonnay sourced predominately from Sangiacomo Vineyards, Kiser, Home and Green Acre Blocks with a small amount of ‘Hens and Chicks’ fruit from the Truchard Vineyard. Barrel fermented and aged for 10 months in American oak. The wine is left on the lees right up until bottling.

Tasting Notes:
Layers of tropical fruits, pear, and apple wrap around refreshing acidity and fresh lemon, all supported by rich notes of vanillin leading into a powerful, yet elegant finish.

Frank Family Carneros Chardonnay 2024
(Carneros, California) - [JS 92]

About the Winery:

First constructed as the Larkmead Winery in 1884, the building was refinished with native sandstone from the nearby hills in 1906 and still stands tall today. Owner Richard Frank produces Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Sangiovese and several distinctly different Cabernet Sauvignons from various sites. The Zinfandel comes from the Brown Vineyards in the Chiles Valley while their Napa Carneros Vineyards produce some of the finest Chardonnay available.

About the Wine:
Hailing from the coveted Carneros reign, this wine leads with zesty lemon and guava aromas that are tempered by notes of vanilla and caramel covered apples. Delicious layers of nutmeg and crème brûlée seamlessly combine with hints of toasted oak and elegant waves of fresh acidity on the palate, leading to a bright finish.
