"The 2013 Taurasi is dark and brooding, requiring coaxing to unlock its bouquet as white smoke, mentholated herbs and stone dust slowly give way to musky black currants. This is like pure silk on the palate, showing a slight green tinge to its ripe black fruits as nervous acidity and salty mineral tones add masses of tension toward the close. A web of silty tannins remains through the savory finale as the 2013 tapers off with medium length, leaving violet inner florals and a saline sensation that carries on. While a bit compact in feel, the 2013 possesses depth and complexity that is not yet fully revealed. I tasted this over the course of 24 hours, and it only got better over time.
