Tasting Note:
The red fruit aromas of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation are complemented by a pleasant floral bouquet. The originality of the Premier Cru "Les Cras" is expressed through its spring nose of acacia, wild rose, and lilac. The Premier Cru "Les Cras" is a wine with delicate tannins, punctuated by good length and a pleasant hint of minerality on the finish.
Terroir:
The Premier Cru "Les Cras" is one of the 24 Premiers Crus that make up the prestigious Chambolle Musigny appellation. The subsoil of Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru "Les Cras" is made of Upper Bajocian limestone marl, rich in Ostrea Acuminta fossils. It reveals all the specificity of the Chambolle Musigny subsoils. The 1er Cru "Les Cras" is located at the foot of a hillside on a gently sloping terrain. Its soil, rich in active limestone, gives the wine its mineral character.

Ratings & Reviews
95-97 Points - Vinous Media:
"The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru has a mineral-laden bouquet that suffuses its effervescent black fruit. There is plenty of energy here. The palate is very harmonious on the entry, a little crunchy in texture and more saline than the Les Combottes with a long, slightly peppery finish courtesy of the 70% whole bunch. Excellent. (Drink between 2028-2052)" – Neal Martin (Jan 2025)
94-97 - Jasper Morris' Inside Burgundy:
"A vibrant purple with a delicious bouquet that combines fresh flowers and ideally ripe fruit, staying in the red register, with some blacker notes alongside. The whole bunches give a dramatic lift to the second half of the palate, delivering a racy finish which extends beautifully in a very persistent finish. Another superb Cras! A little saline touch joins in. 75% whole bunch vinification. Drink from 2030-2038. " Jasper Morris (Nov 2024)
