600 Years of Saint-Julien History. Now in Its Greatest Vintage.
Château Talbot traces its roots to the 15th century — named after John Talbot, 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, the last English commander of Bordeaux before the French reclaimed the region in 1453. For six centuries, this 107-hectare estate in the heart of Saint-Julien has been producing one of Bordeaux's most consistent and celebrated wines.
Saint-Julien is considered the most harmonious of the Médoc appellations — lying between the power of Pauillac and the elegance of Margaux, with Léoville-Barton, Léoville-Las-Cases, and Ducru-Beaucaillou as its neighbors. Talbot's plateau of deep Günzian gravels produces wines of extraordinary structure, complexity, and aging potential.
The 2022 is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot — aged 16 months in barrels, 60% new oak. 2,400 cases imported into the United States. Estate Director Jean-Michel Laporte describes it as a combination of the great 2018, 2019, and 2020 vintages — only better.

The Drinks Business reported in January 2026 that 200% tariffs on French wine and Champagne have been explicitly threatened as geopolitical leverage.
