Notes from the Winemaker:
Deep red violet color. It expresses a complex fruit character with notes of black berries, prune and ripe cherry complemented by fresh herbal and floral notes such as violet and rose. On the palate, it has a sweeping entrance: juicy, with a lively acidity in perfect balance with the tannins. Great structure and a very long finish.

Vinification:
Grape movement by gravity, fermentation in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts, maceration of 20 to 25 days and aging in barrels and concrete vats. Bottled unfiltered.

100% Malbec

Ratings & Reviews

95 Points - James Suckling:
"A malbec that shows power and length with super plum, berry and sea salt character yet it's reserved and polished. Wonderfully harmonious and long. Had not to drink now." - (December 18, 2014)

94 Points & Cellar Selection - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"This pitch-dark, fully extracted Malbec from La Consulta in Mendoza's Uco Valley delivers blackberry, black pepper and brushy herbal aromas on what amounts to a massive, spot-on bouquet. Big, chewy and tannic on the palate, with earthy, roasted flavors of blackberry, prune, savory spices and raw oak, this finishes meaty, slightly salty and strong, with wild herb and black-fruit flavors. Drink through 2022." -
Michael Schachner (10/1/2015)

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2012 Aluvional La Consulta, from the south of the Uco Valley in the San Carlos department at 1,000 meters altitude, shows aromas of ripe black fruit and a slight austerity in the texture, with a mineral sensation. The wood is very integrated into the wine and with time it develops a ripe peach and violet petal aroma. It is drinkable now, but it should improve with time in bottle. Drink 2015-2020." - Luis Gutiérrez (29th Apr 2014)

89 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"A minerally style, with dried berry and cherry flavors that feature plenty of rich, savory notes. White pepper and cardamom accents enliven the finish. Drink now through 2020. 360 cases made." – KM (Jun 30, 2015)
