About the Vineyard:
Amassed from multiple vineyard blocks and clones, this wine has a timeless beauty that can be inherently understood by innate human nature. Wines of this stature, much like great art, reflect the complex and compelling relationship between humanity and Earth. Expressing autumn, (The Sum) leads with blueberries and blackberries on the front end of the palate followed by cranberry and a middle eastern spice medley, melting into dark plum and cocoa powder on the finish. 40% whole-cluster fermentation bolsters the wine, sustaining the tannic imprint and lingering as a sort of familiar, can’t-quite-place-it ambient noise.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Antoino Galloni's Vinous Media:
"Brilliant red. Ripe cherry and black raspberry scents are complicated by suave floral pastille and incense nuances. Sappy and expansive on the palate, offering concentrated, oak-spiced red and dark berry liqueur flavors that turn sweeter on the back half. Shows excellent clarity and power on an impressively long, penetrating finish framed by silky, even tannins." - Josh Raynolds (Jan 2018)

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Pale to medium ruby-purple, the 2014 Pinot Noir The Sum opens with underbrush, bay leaves and damp earth notes with a core cranberries, kirsch and raspberry leaves. The medium-bodied palate is seriously earthy, with the understated layers framed by chewy tannins and seamless acidity, finishing long with a mineral component coming through." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Aug 2017)

92 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine;

"Elegant and sleekly complex, with floral cherry and crushed stone aromas and focused, delicately layered raspberry and white pepper flavors that glide along the easy finish. Drink now through 2024. 286 cases made. – TF (Nov 2017)
