Notes From the Winemaker:
This luscious 30 Year Old Tawny is made from old vine varieties including Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvdre and Muscadelle.

Tasting Notes:
A deep tawny in colour with tinges of green around the edge indicating intense wood age concentration. Aromas of wood aged complexity and elegant brandy spirit featuring sweet spices, caramelised toffee and praline notes, fig, raisins, quince and roasted nuts. The palate is richly flavoured with fruitcake, dark chocolate and brie, integrated and seamless with a persistent aftertaste of honey, dried fruits and caramelised toffee lingering on the finish. The richness and weight are held in harmony by the spirit and acid balance delivering a long persistent finish.

Food Pairing:
Drink now, served alongside chocolate hazelnut cake with praline chocolate crunch.

Wine Production
The grapes were fermented on skins for several days then fortified with fine brandy spirit, distilled through Yalumba's very own still. During the ageing process, between 2-3% of the wine will evaporate each year, also known as the Angel's Share. Combined with maturation over 30 years, the resultant wines are rich and concentrated, and meticulously blended to produce this aged tawny.

Ratings & Reviews

96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"A bit drier than the 21-year-old version, the NV Fine Aged Tawny 30 Years Old boasts knockout aromas of maple syrup, walnuts, rancio and hints of dried fig, citrus and sherry-like notes. It's amazingly drinkable, not overly sweet and just a terrific effort that will age effortlessly." - Joe Czerwinski (11th Jun 2019)

95 Points - James Suckling:
"Ruby brown with an orange and lemon-yellow edge. Intense aromas of dried citrus, some volatility (which adds to the complexity), almonds, treacle tart and caramel. A fantastically full-bodied, dense and very layered, chewy palate that remains so sweet and decadent. Love the mango and dried-peach undertones on the finish. Drink now." - (14 Sep, 2018)

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"The middle child of Yalumba's Tawny trio, this coffee-colored fortified shows its age more prominently than the 21-year-old. It emphasizes dusty library notes in combination with truffle, roasted walnut, coffee bean and faint whiffs of dried stone fruit and caramel. The palate is beautifully balanced, less viscous than its younger counterpart but also a touch less characterful. The nutty, dried fruit flavors mingle with the sweetness and alcohol, lingering in the mouth long after the wine is gone. Christina Pickard" - (4/1/2020)

93 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Thick and viscous, built around a core of black walnut liqueur flavors. Shows precision to the cinnamon, blood orange and molasses details, while a thread of acidity keeps the flavors fresh and not cloying. Drink now through 2034. 215 cases made, 50 cases imported." - MW
