Notes from the Winemaker:
Chardonnay is the Queen of Napa. This wine emanates from the Beckstoffer vineyards situated around Pablo Bay just north of San Francisco. The fog breezes that come up from the bay make for a cooler climate. This coupled with vinification of hand-picked and hand-sorted grapes at a low temperature, brings traditional Napa Chardonnay into the modern era.
Ratings & Reviews
92 Points - Stephen Tanzer:
"(14.9% alcohol; from a cool Beckstoffer Vineyard just north of San Pablo Bay): Pale, green-tinged yellow. Delicate white peach, lemon drop and white flowers on the nose. Then densely-packed-verging-in-thick, but with very good definition and lift to the flavors of pineapple, lemon and white peach. Sound, ripe acidity, near-15% alcohol and a slightly tannic impression give the wine a bit of youthful harshness but also the structure to repay a couple years of cellaring." - Stephen Tanzer (May 2014)
89 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The Chablis-like 2013 Chardonnay Rebel Rebel possesses a crisp minerality as well as caramelized citrus and fresh, medium-bodied, honeysuckle and orange zest notes. Drink it over the next 4-5 years." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Oct 2014)
