Ratings & Reviews

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2013 Rosso di Montalcino shows earthy tones with fresh fruit nuances that give the wine a fresh and easy-going personality. This is a lovely effort that puts a premium on simplicity and drinkability. This wine would work wonders next to pork stuffed with sweet prunes. The mouthfeel is on the thin side and the wine should be consumed within the next 24 months." - Monica Larner (Feb 2015)

Wine Enthusiast (2012 Vintage):

"This full-bodied but informal wine has sensations of leafy forest floor, mature black cherry, prune and tobacco alongside firm tannins. It’s straightforward with a warm midpalate and shy on fresh acidity so enjoy it soon." - Kerin O’Keefe (11/1/2014)

89 Points - Stephen Tanzer (2011 Vintage):
"Medium dark ruby-red. Herbal and tar nuances complement ripe dark cherry and smoky plum on the nose. Ripe, creamy flavors of plum and blueberry are complicated by hints of aromatic herbs. This has a bigger, fleshier texture than your average Rosso di Montalcino, but I prefer my sangiovese wines with less tar and herbs and more red fruits and flowers." - Ian D'Agata (October 2013)

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast (2010 Vintage):
"This impressive Rosso delivers a silky and smooth texture, with aromas of bright fruit backed by toasted nut and spice. The balance and overall harmony of the mouthfeel are what set this wine apart." — M.L. (5/1/2012)

Wine Spectator (2010 Vintage):
"A mix of cherry and earth flavors, with leather and spice accents, this turns firm on the moderately long finish. Drink now through 2018. 5,000 cases made." – BS (Web Only - 2013)

Wine Spectator Magazine (2009 Vintage):
"Delicate and lacy, with acidity and tannins in the right proportion. Cherry, berry and herb flavors are pushed to the forefront. Moderate length. Drink now through 2013. 5,000 cases made." –BS (Sep 30, 2011)
