Notes From The Winemaker:

De-stemmed, crushed and fermented in open top fermenters ranging in size from three to 10 ton capacity. Regular pump overs occurred three times daily during the peak of fermentation to extract color, flavor and tannin. Average time “on skins” was 14 days before the dry free run was drained to tank and the pressings combined. After 24 hours the wine was then racked to barrel, where malolactic fermentation took place. Minimal fining and unfiltered prior to bottling.

Color: Black to the core
Aroma: Very perfumed with lovely red fruits including subtle raspberries, five spice, cedar and sandlewood.
Palate: Juicy red fruits burst onto the palate and roll on and on, balanced with fine tannins and subtle oak. This wine has great length and an elegant framework.

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
Soft and expressive, layering plum, currant and clove hints into a beautifully textured package, all pointing toward the long, generous finish. Drink now through 2018. 4,500 cases made. –HS (March, 2014)

91 Points - Antonio Galloni:
Dark ruby. Spicy cherry and dark berry aromas are complemented by an exotic Indian spice quality. Chewy, round and nicely concentrated, with sweet, focused black and blue fruit compote flavors lifted by tangy acidity. Appealingly sweet on the youthfully tannic finish, which leaves allspice, blueberry and bitter chocolate notes behind. Shows the best traits of this difficult Barossa vintage and might surprise with its ability to age. -- Josh Raynolds (July, 2013)

95 Points -
Wine Spectator Magazine (2010 vintage):
Pepper, clove and plum flavors weave through dense dark cherry and roasted plum fruit, melding together smoothly on the complex and expansive finish. A big wine with depth and harmony. Best from 2013 through 2020. From Australia.—H.S.

95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2010 Vintage):
"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2010 Bella’s Garden is profoundly scented of blackberries, warm black plums and mulberries with an underlying earthiness plus hints of cinnamon stick, licorice and toast. Rich, ripe and concentrated on the full bodied palate, it is beautifully poised in the mouth with a medium level very fine tannins and crisp acid line framing the dense flesh and going into a long multi-layered finish. Drink it 2014 to 2024+." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Feb 2013)
