Giusto di Notri is a Bordeaux-inspired blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, selectively harvested in September. After a gentle pressing, the juice and skins macerate for a lengthy period of 25-30 days to add concentration and depth to the final wine. The wine is then aged for 18-20 months in French oak barrels and refined six months in bottle before release.
The word "Giusto" refers to the name of the Patron Saint of Suvereto (the hilltop Tuscan town where Tua Rita is located) and "Notri" is the name of the winery's exact location.
Deep purple in color, Giusto di Notri offers abundant aromas of blackberry, plum and currants with underpinnings of coriander, violet and a touch of vanilla. Full-bodied, with ripe, fine tannins, and a silky texture, this is a stunning wine with great aging potential.

Varietal composition: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc

Ratings & Reviews
96 Points - James Suckling:
"A bright and fruity red with a level of tightness and precision that suggests greatness. Medium to full body. Intense tannins give focus to the center palate. Super length and beauty. Celebrates its 25th anniversary. 80% cabernet sauvignon, 12% cabernet franc and 8% merlot. Drink after 2022." (23 Aug, 2019)
96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2017 Giusto di Notri is a special 25th anniversary bottling that is chiseled, sharp and focused. The small part of Merlot gives it some added sweetness (the percentage of Merlot was slightly reduced in this vintage), the touch of Cabernet Franc contributes the power, freshness and dark fruit, and along with a starring role of Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine has lots of beautiful plushness restrained by a tight, disciplined linearity. This vintage saw less time in barrique (about 16 months) but the barrels had more toasting. There is a lasting mineral note of chalk or limestone that frames the dark and opulence quality of fruit at its core. The bouquet is stunning. The wine treads lightly in the palate, with a very elegant and nuanced approach. It really is another gorgeous wine from Tua Rita that shows the profound skill of this winemaking team even when faced with a hot vintage such as this." - Monica Larner (Aug 2019)
93 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous Media:
"A wine of substance and depth, the 2017 Giusto di Notri is terrific. In 2017, the Giusto has a bit less opulence than normal (typical of wines of the coast in this vintage) and yet that also gives it more immediacy. A rush of sweet red/purplish berry fruit, cinnamon and spice builds as the 2017 shows off its racy curves." - Antonio Galloni (Jan 2021)
92 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"This is a preview as the wine is not yet bottled. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon was used this year, with a resultant reduction in Merlot. The wine spent 16 months in barriques, 70% new. It has a tighter, leaner structure than the 2016 with a slight green, herbal edge. I like the dark liquorice flavours here - reminiscent of a traditional St-Estèphe - and the firm, more austere, honest style. I love that the wine reflects the vintage in a very transparent way." - Susan Hulme, MW (Mar 2019)
