Notes from the Winemaker:
The wine shows a delicate profile on the nose with aromas of red flowers, cherries, and sweet herbs. The palate shows the rusticity of the appellation but with unexpected richness and texture. Aging in 15% new oak barrels brings warm notes of vanilla and spice.

Food Pairing:
Red Burgundy might be the world’s most flexible food wine. The wine’s high acidity, medium body, medium alcohol, and low tannins make it very food-friendly. Red Burgundy, with its earthy and sometimes gamey character, is a classic partner to roasted game birds, grilled duck breast, and dishes that feature mushrooms, black truffles, or are rich in umami.

Ratings & Reviews

Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"The 2017 Bourgogne Rouge had been transferred into the blending tank for one week. Despite a touch of reduction on the nose, there is pleasant, brambly red fruit here. The palate is well balanced, offering crunchy cranberry and raspberry fruit and a dash of spice on the finish. Fine." - Neal Martin (Jan 2019)

Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"An appealingly fresh nose speaks of a panoply of red berry and earth scents where the latter is picked up by the succulent, even opulent, middle weight flavors that flash a hint of bitter cherry on the moderately firm finish. This is really quite good for its level and worth considering for an all-around house red as it should drink well early and with a few years of bottle age." - (Apr 10, 2019)
