Notes from the Winemaker:

Intense and deep carmine red. Aromas of wild berries such as currants and blueberries dominate. Ripe figs and spicy notes are also presented. French oak barrel aging provides tobacco and smoky notes. Wide and refined. Delicate present tannins and seductive acidity. It is a lasting and elegant wine.

Vintage Notes:
The 2009 vintage is considered an "ideal" and classic-profiled one, typical of a gentle climate like in Mendoza. The season determined a long and hot cycle, giving wines exhibiting great typicity, ripeness and strength.

Vinification:
1. Hand-harvesting of the berries.
2. Cluster and berries selection, gravity feeding of fermentation tanks.
3. Alcoholic fermentation with selected and natural yeasts. Soft maceration for an average of 30 days, combining pigeageand delestage.
4. Aging in new French oak barrels for 18 -20 months. Periodic racking of wine in barrels to achieve clarity and brightness without need for filtration.
5. Bottling and prolonged aging in bottle for a minimum period of 12 months.

Ratings & Reviews

94 Points - James Suckling:
"This is a very layered red with black currants, minerals, violets and walnuts. It's full-bodied, with chewy yet polished tannins and a nutty finish. Just coming around now." - (June 11th, 2014)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2009 feels very classic, the nose of this Single Vineyard might transport you to Bordeaux, with notes of cigar box, blackberries, cassis and a hint of spices, but a the sleek palate and the roundness of the tannins speak of a waarmer climate, combining the best of both worlds. At this price level I would like to see a little more complexity, as is a little one-dimensional, but it is still a very worthy Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now - 2018." Luis Gutierrez
