About the Winery:
Tenuta Fanti Estate belongs to the Fanti family since 1800. In the early seventies Filippo Fanti, the current owner, transformed the property from a sharecropping company to a winery, marking an important turning point.

Since then, the vineyards and olive groves have been cultivated by Filippo who, together with his daughter Elisa, follows every stage of production.

Tasting Notes:
In the glass, a bright ruby red with medium intensity.  The nose bears complex notes of cherry, red fruits and violet, alongside pepper, licorice and cinnamon. The tannins are dense and well integrated, with great acidity and it is elegant and well-balanced.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - James Suckling:
"Plenty of black cherry and berry character with hints of flowers. Medium to full body, soft and fresh tannins and a clean and delicious finish. Lovely now." - (November 27, 2017)

92+ Points - Vinous Media:
"Bright medium-red. Perfumed aromas of violet, red cherry, spices and iron. Then sweeter in the mouth, featuring a raspberry element complicated by a whiff of woodsmoke and graphite. Thanks to its harmonious acidity, this silky, persistent wine freshened up nicely with aeration, finishing long, clean and with repeating floral notes." - Ian D'Agata (Apr 2018)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Fanti's 2013 Brunello di Montalcino is a fruit-driven expression that makes a fresh and simple presentation. The wine tastes younger than it actually is, thanks to those notes of vibrant cherry and crème de cassis. There is a candied element as well that resembles sweet watermelon or peach. It's hard to determine where the wine's aging trajectory will take it. If all the fresh fruit fades, it's not clear what will replace it. But the wine is sturdy and firm in texture, so it might just keep us guessing." - Monica Larner (28th Feb 2018)

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"Aromas of blueberry, truffle, coconut and a whiff of dark spice emerge on this. On the firm palate, tight grainy tannins support sour cherry, French oak, star anise and espresso alongside brisk acidity. Drink after 2023." - Kerin O’Keefe (5/1/2018)

90 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Lean yet intense, this red offers cherry, currant, strawberry, saline and iron flavors. Fresh and balanced, finishing compact. Best from 2020 through 2032. 5,000 cases made." – BS (Jun 15, 2018)
