Distiller Notes:
While this Hibiki 12 Years old bottle has been discontinued since 2015, it continues to occupy a prominent place in the hearts of Japanese Whisky enthusiasts. Before the Japanese Whisky boom, it offered many whisky fans their first experience of what could be achieved from a blended expression and played a large part in changing people’s preferences. The remaining stock has become increasingly rare making this a cherished bottle among Hibiki collectors.
The Hibiki continues to be one of the most popular whiskies from Japan. The name “Hibiki” means harmony in Japanese. The name also symbolizes the unique marriage of malts and the harmonious blend of flavors in the whisky. The sweet floral aroma of the hand-selected, matured malts, combined with a natural wood essence, create a truly distinctive whisky, with a full-bodied taste. The 24 faces of the bottle symbolize the ancient tradition of “Sekki” – the age-old Japanese calendar. It has been followed for centuries and represents 24 seasons. The front label is made from the hand-crafted Japanese paper, “Washi”.

Gold - SF World Spirits Competition 2023
92 Points - Wine Enthusiast
"With a little water, this golden blended whisky opens up to delicate, nuanced honey and floral aromas and flavors. Finishes smoky, dry and brisk."
"Well-rounded, solid malt backbone, and very drinkable. These are the main characteristics of this impressive blend. Honeysuckle, vanilla-coated malt and fruit (pineapple upside down cake, lemon tart, plum, bramble) are the primary flavors. Ripe barley, marzipan, beeswax, and clove round out the palate. Gentle, soothing finish. Suntory can make a 12 year old blend this good with just two malt distilleries? Scotland, are you taking notice?" - Whisky Advocate
