Notes from the Winemaker:

The Chateau St. Jean Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is a very light gold color, dazzling in the glass. Inviting aromas of Meyer lemon, fresh kiwi and rain-soaked crushed stones lead to a delicate yet flavorful palate. Flavors of fresh nectarine, vanilla spice meet a decided core of bright acidity. The wine resembles a Chablis style, firm structure with beautiful fruit expression and a lingering finish.

Ratings & Reviews

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2011 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is an addition to the portfolio. With time in the glass, the wine opens up, filling out its broad shoulders nicely. Lemon oil and wet stones add hints of complexity, but the 2011 stands out most for its textural harmony. This is an excellent introduction to the wines of the Sonoma Coast. Best of all, it won’t break the bank. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2016." -Antonio Galloni (Apr 2013)

Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Made in the oaky, lush style of California Chardonnay, but balanced with fine acidity and minerality that ground and control the pineapple, tropical fruit, sweet vanilla and buttered toast flavors. Appeals to the popular Chard style without pandering." -S.H. (11/1/2013)

Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Intense yet simple, with modest, easy-drinking flavors of fresh-cut pear and apple. Drink now through 2015. 3,134 cases made." -JL (Web Only - 2013)
