About the Winery:
Cantina Santadi was founded in 1960 and was based on a partnership of fine local growers. From the beginning, Santadi set severe quality standards and began establishing a reputation for making phenomenal wines from native varietals.

Santadi vineyards cover an impressive 1,235 acres (500 hectares) of prime, gently rolling terrain reaching right out to the sea, all within an 18-mile radius from the winery so that fruit can be conveyed in minimal time. The soil is unique, its sandy nature conducive to the survival of pre-Phylloxera rootstock.

Tasting Notes:
90% Cannonau and 10% Carignano. Santadi Cannonau di Sardegna “Noras” DOC is an intense ruby red, verging on garnet with complex notes of ripe blackberries, blueberries, mellow spices, myrtle, tobacco and chocolate.

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Vinous Media:
"The 2016 Cannonau di Sardegna Noras is earthy yet understated, with notes of plum, crushed stone, incense and flowery undergrowth. It is silky in texture, energized by vibrant acids and ripe cacao-tinged black fruits that cascade across a mineral core. It tapers off wonderfully fresh, with remnants of blackberry and sweet spices lingering long. The 2016 may not be one for the cellar, but it sure is showing beautifully today." - Eric Guido (Mar 2021)

91 Points - James Suckling:
"This red is a little old-school with its high alcohol and light cherry-liqueur character, but I like the earthy, dried-fruit notes. The full-bodied palate, with its soft, sweeping tannins, doesn't have any rough edges, while the finish ties up attractive, redcurrant flavors in swathes of oily alcohol. Drink now." (29 Aug, 2019)
