About the Winery:
Maison Roche de Bellene is the négociant (making wine with fruit from other growers) of Nicolas Potel, the well-known and highly regarded winemaker in Burgundy.
Founded in 2009, the emphasis at Roche de Bellene is on individual terroirs from vieilles vignes (old vines — 40 years or older) that are farmed responsibly. All of the growers that Nicolas works with are either BIO certified or farming according to the principles of lutte raisonée (“sustainable viticultureâ€). This enables Nicolas to consistently produce the expressive, terroir-driven style that is his vision.Ratings & Reviews
92 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"As so often with this appellation, this is a structured wine. Still full of young citrus, apple and pear flavors with a touch of nutmeg, the wine needs time. With its concentration, this rich wine will be ready from 2021." - Roger Voss (4/1/2019)
92 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"This is round and expressive, with peach, pastry and spice flavors enhanced by gentle iodine and briny notes. Elegant yet creamy, showing fine length and a lingering aftertaste of mineral and pastry. Drink now through 2024. 100 cases imported." — BS (Sep 30, 2018)
