Notes from the Winemaker:

Our seventh vintage of this Napa Valley appellation Cabernet, which represents a combination of hillside and valley floor vineyards. This year’s blend derives from 56% St. Helena, 17% Napa Valley, 13% Mt. Veeder, 12% Rutherford and 2% Oakville. This release is 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc.

Our seventh vintage of this appellation Cabernet is blended from a combination of hillside and valley floor vineyards. Our style combines the harmony produced by traditional Bordelaise winemaking techniques with the voluptuousness gained from California’s weather, albeit a cooler, more elegant vintage.

Ratings & Reviews

92 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous Media:
One of the great values in Napa Valley, David Ramey's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is fabulous. The flavors are bold, intense and creamy, with silky tannins, voluptuous energy and tons of pure balance. The 2012 is delicious today, but also has enough depth to drink well for another decade-plus. -- Antonio Galloni (Jan. 2015)

Wine Spectator Magazine (2011 vintage):
Tight, with a reticent core of blackberry, mocha, toasty oak and cedar, ending with gritty tannins and good length. Well-balanced but needs time. Drink now through 2023. 1,276 cases made. –JL (OCt. 2014)
