Notes from the Winemaker:
Rodolphe Péters took over the reins of this venerable estate in the southern Côte des Blancs in 2008, becoming the fourth gener ation to lead since the estate was founded in 1919, under the name Camille Péters. Today, Rodolphe holds 18 hectares of vineyards, pre dominantly in the grand cru of Les Mesnil-sur Oger. Péters owns small holdings in several other grand crus (Oger, Avize and Cramant) but Les Mesnil-sur-Oger is where 45 of the 63 parcels he farms are located.

“For more than forty years, a mere percent age point separated Le Mesnil from Grand Cru status, and it wasn’t until 1985 that the promotion came, even though many saw the village as the best of them all. Those grapes which grow in a belt at a height of 160-220 meters provide the most elegant champagnes the world has tasted. The cru has a very Special Chardonnay clone which gives a penetrating bouquet even when the actual content in a cu vée is small. Mesnil’s wines are often shy and acidic when young only to explode in a burst of color and sensational pleasures."

Ratings & Reviews

94 Points - Wine Advocate:
"Based on the 2016 vintage and disgorged in January 2021, the new release of Péters's NV Brut Rosé for Albane is already showing very well, bursting with aromas of plum, peonies, orange rind, pomelo and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, pillow and vinous, it's deep and seamless, its fleshy core of fruit framed by lively acids and animated by a pearly mousse, concluding with a long and sapid finish. Seamless and complex, this stands out as a particularly good release of this bottling." - Wiliam Kelley (Jan 2022)

94 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The NV Champagne Rosé For Albanne Brut pours a medium pink hue and is expressive with soft floral notes of rose petal, raspberry, and apricot. The palate is juicy and fresh, with a chalky texture and structure as well as more orchard fruit of ripe peach. An incredibly charming wine that is hard to resist, this can carry on its own or throughout a meal. The finish is well-balanced and offers a light saline touch. Drink 2023-2033." (Nov 2022)

92 Points - Vinous Media:
"The NV Brut Rosé for Albane is terrific. Sadly, this release, based on 2015, will be the last for the Peters Rosé. Bright and lifted, with terrific depth, the Rosé is wonderfully expressive right out of the gate. Cranberry, crushed red berry fruit, white flowers and mint lend freshness to play off the wine's generous personality. This is one of the most overt Peters Rosés I can remember tasting." - Antonio Galloni (May 2022)
