About the Winery:
In the Santa Lucia Mountains west of Paso Robles is a gem cut from the rough of the coastal forest, ascending into the skyline with pyramidal grace. This is DAOU Mountain, in the Adelaida District.

Patrimony is rooted in the mountain's unmatched alchemy of soil, aspect and climate, and realized through meticulous vinification of our most noble vineyard rows. The phenolics produced here are known to be among the highest in the world, fostering an immensity of color, depth and structure that is only enhanced by the rigorous viticulture required to make Patrimony.

Winemaker Notes:
This wine definitely qualifies as the most elegant PATRIMONY Cabernet to date. The longer hanging on the vine provides a great tannin structure while maintaining Freshness. The nose is layered and complex, exploding with chocolate, cooked blackberries, violets, cedar and cigar box. On the palate, crushed stones give it a dimension rarely seen in a new world wine. The fruit is pure and potent yet very fine while being accompanied with a kaleidoscope of flavor ranging from blueberries, blackberries, dulce de leche and a touch of rose petal while having a very mineral and floral note. This wine will show its potential after it ages in the bottle for several years. With an immense structure, this will age and improve for decades.

Made entirely from free-run juice and aged 30 months in new French oak barrels, it offers stunning aromatics: blueberry and blackberry preserves are accented by garrigue, wildflowers and meaty tones, with pure wafts of mint chocolate. The palate has a bursting sensation from its fresh acidity and chocolaty tannins, driving you to take another sip. Saturated violet. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes black and blue fruit preserves, pipe tobacco and pungent flowers, along with oak spice and vanilla flourishes. Sappy and expansive on the palate, offering deeply concentrated, smoke-tinged cassis, cherry preserve, licorice rose pastille and mocha flavors braced by a spine of juicy acidity.
