Notes from the Winemaker:

This profound and powerful Chardonnay exhibits a rich, complex intensity that can only be found in unfiltered wines. The grapes are predominantly grown in the Carneros region where bay breezes and morning fog combine to create the cooler climate ideal for growing Chardonnay rich with concentrated flavors.

Our Chardonnay vineyard in Carneros was planted nearly 30 years ago and this region has since become known for producing superb cool-climate Chardonnay. At harvest, our winemaker works closely with the harvest crew, walking the vineyard rows to hand select fruit at the peak of ripeness. In the cellar, quality and purity are never compromised at the hands of convenience. Newton Unfiltered Chardonnay is fermented with wild yeast, native to our Carneros vineyards, and is bottled unfiltered to preserve the natural fruit essence and to foster the wine’s unique aroma and flavor. This exceptional dedication to nurturing the richness that nature provides allows Newton Vineyard to produce wines of brilliance and purity.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2011 Chardonnay Unfiltered exhibits notes of white peaches and honeysuckle, a beautiful, medium to full-bodied texture, superb purity, good acidity and a sensual finish. This highly successful 2011 can be consumed over the next 3-4 years." - Robert Parker (Oct 2013)

92 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine (2010 vintage):
"Rich and seamless, with layers of crème brûlée, baked pie, honeysuckle and tangerine. A remarkably complex and elegantly styled wine. Drink now through 2018. 10,000 cases made." - JL (6/30/2013)
