"The 2009 Montes Alpha M is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. It offers a raucous, fruit-driven nose of blackberry, bilberry, licorice and vanilla that has a lot of glycerin lying underneath. The palate is full-bodied with dark chocolate covered cherries; Asian spice, white pepper and a muscular finish with layers of concentrated dark berries. It is a wine of dimension and power, but it is well crafted and what could have been an overbearing wine is highly enjoyable and worth cellaring. Drink 2015-2025." - Neal Martin (26th Dec 2012)
