Ratings & Reviews

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Expensive, yes, but defines the soft, luxurious modern style of extreme deliciousness. Made with a drop of Petit Verdot that seems to add depth, the wine is fantastically rich in blackberry, blueberry and cherry jam, chocolate and sweet oak. The tannins are a wonder, and there’s just enough acidity to give a balanced tang. Will it age? Yes, but for how long is the question. Beautiful now and through 2019." - SH (9/1/13)

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon M by Michael Mondavi is a pretty wine laced with tobacco, dried flowers, raspberries and gentle spices. Today, the tannins appear to be a bit firm considering the wine’s otherwise mid-weight structure. There is good balance in the glass, but not the personality, pedigree or excitement I expect in this price range. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024." - Antonio Galloni (Dec 2012)

94 +Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2007 Vintage):
"The best wine to date the I have tasted under this label is the 2007 M by Michael Mondavi. With a production of 1,000 cases of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 20-22 months in French oak before bottling, it has the most opaque purple color of the group. The style seems like a Napa version of a Graves wine interwoven with one from St Estephe. With plenty of distinct loamy soil, earth, and charcoal notes along with pure black currant and plum-like fruit, this wine is dense, full-bodied, still somewhat restrained, but displaying sweet, velvety tannins and impressive texture and length. This is a beauty that should be cellared for 3-4 years and drunk over the next 25-30." - Robert Parker (Dec 2009)

92 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine (2007 Vintage)
"Rich and dramatic by any standards, this new release offers a blast of ripe blackberry, currant and mineral flavors. New oak adds the perfect touch of smoky caramel. It's pretty tannic, yet drinkable now after a good decant. Should age well throughout the decade." - SH (12/15/2011)
90 Points - James Suckling (2007):
"Pretty aromas of chocolate, blueberries and vanilla. Medium body, with polished tannins and a silky finish. A little hollow in the center palate, but balanced and attractive. Very approachable now. Why wait?" - 2/16/2011
