About this Winery:
A new label by the makers of McPrice Myers, winery namesake McPrice “Mac” Myers, Venus Lai, and Billy Grant began this project as a “tribute to the mavericks; those who came before us, who farmed this area with grit and determination, and those who continue the legacy today with mettle and moxie.”
Its first wine out of the box is a classic Paso Robles Cabernet. A wine that has all the bold fruit California is known for plus a gorgeous backbone of acidity achievable in the Paso AVA thanks to its unique climate.
About this wine:
M Cabernet is made from grapes grown in the Adelaida, Willow Creek, Templeton Gap, Creston, El Pomar, and Estrella districts of the Paso Robles AVA.
Destemmed, 3-5 day cold-soak, fermented in stainless steel and small open top bins, with pump-overs occurring during cold-soak and punch downs during fermentation. Aged 20 months in 225 and 228 liter French and American oak barriques, 20% of which were new.
"I love this easy-to-drink 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon from McPrice Myers that well overdelivers for its price. Deep ruby-purple, it has alluring aromas of cassis, pencil shavings, dried herbs, leather and lavender, plus classy touches of oak spice. The full-bodied palate is concentrated and powerful without going over the top. It has abundant, grainy tannins, flinty streaks and plenty of refreshing acidity to carry the long finish. It's not your average chocolate bomb California Cabernet, despite its modest price tag. Drink 2023 - 2028." - Erin Brooks (Dec 2022)
91 Points - Vinous Media:
"The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon M is peppery and perfumed with dusty rose and raspberry tones complicated by nectarine and crushed chalk nuances. Velvety and refined, this possesses depths of wild berry fruits and zesty spices propelled by juicy acidity. It finishes with tension, yet quite fresh, with a tannic crunch and lingering blackberry hints. Drink 2024-2029.
Hard Working Wines is the second label of McPrice Myers, and is aimed at delivering serious value without sacrificing quality. The packaging is unassuming, and the names are pretty playful, but what’s in the bottle really stands out. I’d be happy to enjoy one of these at my dinner table any night of the week." - Eric Guido (May 2023)
91 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"This partnership between Paso Robles powerhouse players McPrice Myers and Billy Grant begins with aromas of black plum extract, graphite, tobacco leaf and roasted meat on the lush, attractive nose. There's a firm edge to the palate, where charred wood and pencil shaving flavors meet with crushed black rocks, marjoram and more black plum flavors." - MK

Chocolate-blackberry ganache, cranberry preserves, sweet mint, black licorice, dark olive, new leather, mahogany. The palate is sleek and supple, firm, fine-grain, polished tannins, with a complex, and classy finish.
