Tasting Notes:
A hedonistically, opulent expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville. Juicy ripe blackberries, black currants, crushed granite and honeyed black raspberries sing from the glass. Notes of black cardamom, freshly picked violets and graphite complete the aromatic landscape of this wine. Savory, balanced and amazingly concentrated; this wine possesses explosive flavors of black and purple fruits pinned together with incredible minerality. Enjoy over the next 20 years or more.

Vintage Notes:
2016 was an unquestionably near perfect vintage; with an early start and a season filled with long, warm days. e grapes developed beautifully achieving optimal ripeness at harvest. The resulting wines exhibit expressive, balanced and complex fruit flavors, supported by elegant tannins.

The Coombsville AVA is located in the south of Napa Valley. The Petaluma Gap winds sweep this AVA contributing to the cooler climate, resulting in an extended ripening window that leads to highly pigmented, well developed grapes at harvest. The overall perfection of the 2016 vintage heightened the growing conditions in Coombsville gifting us an optimal year.

"Made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Herold Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon features Black Forest cake, warm cassis and blackberry pie notes with hints of menthol, bay leaves, cedar and tobacco. Full-bodied, rich and opulent in the mouth, it delivers mouth-filling cassis flavors and a firm, grainy backbone, finishing with a lingering menthol kick. 395 cases produced." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (13th Dec 2018)
