About the winery:
Louis Roederer has been synonymous with the world's great Champagnes since 1776, and it is one of the rare family owned companies, which is still managed by the Roederer family today. They are also one of the only French champagne producers to own nearly 75 percent of the grapes in the most desirable vineyards in the Champagne. The property is located on 450 acres in the finest villages of Montagne de Reims, Côtes des Blancs, and Valleé de la Marne. Each region is selected to produce Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with the elegance needed for perfectly balanced champagne. The Louis Roederer vineyards rate an average 98 percent based on France’s statutory 100-point classification scale.

About this wine:
The Carte Blanche cuvee, like Brut Premier, is produced from around 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Meunier, 5% of which is wine matured in oak tuns. It is aged for 3 years in Louis Roederer's cellars and left for a minimum of 6 months after disgorgement.

Carte Blanche, which has more dosage added than Brut Premier, perfectly reflects the great tradition of demi-sec champagnes. Ample, creamy, with a refined and persistent acidity that gives it a very delicate freshness, this blend has ripe fruit notes with almost caramelized accents and a flavour of honey and ground almonds.

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Vinous Media:
"The NV Demi Sec Carte Blanche is a beautiful wine in this style, with striking textural depth and nuance. Pear, apple, jasmine and mint notes abound in a very pretty, highly expressive Champagne to drink over the next few years. This is an impeccable wine in the Demi-Sec style. This release is based on the 2010 vintage. The higher level of sugar works beautifully to balance some of the austerity seen in other 2010s here such as the Rosé. Dosage is 38 grams/Liter." - Antonio Galloni (November 2015)

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"The wine is only just off dry, giving a wine that is deliciously crisp and fruity. Ripe apple and creamed pear flavors are lifted by balanced acidity. The fruitiness and the just off-dry character make this a wine that would be just as good as an aperitif as with food." - Roger Voss (12/1/2015)
