About this wine:
In 1915 Armand-Raphael Graser, then a wine merchant in Alsace, moved from there to Champagne in order to protect his family during the War. By 1920 he had moved into an 18th century building, which is still the company headquarters, and started to make Champagne under the A.R. Lenoble label. The A.R. came from his initials and Lenoble was a tribute to the nobility of Champagne. Today the domaine is now run by Armand-Raphael's great-grandchildren Anne and her younger brother Antoine Malassagne

Notes from the Winemaker:
Cuvee Intense is an extremely harmonious blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes from the best hillsides of the Champagne region.

The use of reserve and oak-aged wines in the blend, as well as an ageing period of at least two and a half years in cellars, enable the dosage to be reduced to around 5g/l. Extremely well balanced and wonderfully fruity, this wine is equally enjoyable as an aperitif or served with fish or white meat dishes.

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Vinous Media:
"(40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier; L 13 04209 25 10): Pale gold. Fresh pear, tangerine and buttered toast on the mineral-accented nose. Fleshy but focused on the palate, offering juicy citrus and orchard fruit flavors, plus a hint of white pepper that adds back-end lift and cut. Finishes stony and incisive, with a sexy floral nuance coming in late." - Josh Raynolds (Jan 2015)

90 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"White cherry, almond biscotti and mandarin orange peel notes are set in this bright Champagne, framed by firm acidity and riding the lively mousse. Offers a subtle, chalk-tinged finish. Drink now. 15,000 cases made, 2,000 cases imported." - BS (Dec 2017)
