Notes From The Winemaker:

Deep color and top-notes of dark fruits with hints of chocolate and vanilla. Soft, velvety tannins make a perfect companion to roast meats and strong cheeses. Drink now or cellar up to 10 years.

Fruit is fermented on skins for 10 days. After pressing, clarification, and blending, the wine is matured in French and American hogsheads for 12 months prior to bottling.

The 2014 started very hot with heavy rains in mid-February. Indian summer prevailed from February onward, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, producing a vintage of exceptional quality

Ratings & Reviews

89 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"This medium-bodied Shiraz represents a solid value. Sourced from 80 growers, it's meant to present a “portrait” of the Barossa region, and it delivers vanilla, plum and black olive aromas and flavors, supple tannins and a lingering mocha finish." - Joe Czerwinski (8/1/2016)

Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Bursting with blueberry and plum flavors, this offers chocolate and Earl Grey tea accents. Velvety and smooth on the long finish. Drink now through 2026. 4,500 cases imported." - MW (Jun 30, 2016)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Medium garnet-purple in color, the blackberry preserves and menthol scented 2014 Portrait Shiraz gives plenty of juicy, minted baked berry flavors with a soft texture. Straight-up, old-school styling for everyday drinking." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Jun 2016)
