Ratings & Reviews
Antonio Galloni's Vinous Media:
"The 2018 Mâcon-Verzé is bright and nicely focused. Light tropical overtones add an exotic flair to the candied citrus, apricot and mineral-driven flavors. The Mâcon-Verzé is initially rather taut, but it relaxes with time in the glass and gains notable volume as well to play off veins of underlying salinity." - Antonio Galloni (Oct 2020)
Allen Meadows' BurgHound:
"This too is notably cool with more citrus influence on the restrained green apple aromas. There is slightly more volume if not quite the same refinement to the delicious middle weight flavors that flash a touch of minerality on the equally youthfully austere finale. This is quite good and worth checking out." (June 2020)
At the beginning of 2003, SCE Domaine Leflaive acquired five parcels (Les Chênes, En Perret, Le Monté, Escolles and Les Muses) of mature Chardonnay vines in the commune of Verzé in the Mâconnais (the Mâcon-Verzé appellation). From the very first year, the vines were cultivated biodynamically.
