About the Whisky:
The Red Dragon is the national flag of Wales and the Royal Welsh badge bears the motto, "ddraig goch ddyry cychwyn", which translates as "The red dragon inspires action." It features in ancient Welsh tales and was the battle standard of legendary Welsh princes. Welshman Henry Tudor took the flag to Bosworth, where, in 1485, he became the last king of England to be crowned on the battlefield.
Finished in peated Islay quarter casks.
Nose: Mild aromas of peat smoke, early morning at the rocky seaside and warm marmalade on toast all compete for our attention.
Palate: It begins with great sweetness before the smoky, slightly medicinal flavors descend.
Finish: Slight bitterness follows that leaves a long and lingering freshness in the mouth.

"Light straw colored in the glass with a layered nose of apple blossom, caramel, toasted oak, and a hint of peat that precedes the rather juicy palate. Quite lively with sweetness and zip, the finish dries down to crunchy apple by campfire."

"Blender Aista Jukneviciute finishes Celt in peated Islay quarter casks that enable the sooty charcoal smoke and maritime notes to sink their claws into the fresh lemon, mandarin, and buttery, toasty aromas. Penderyn, the best known of the small but growing number of Welsh distilleries, is in the process of constructing a second distillery with a visitor center in Swansea anticipated to open in 2021 and has proposed a third facility for Llandudno. Sweet citrus, dark fruits, chocolate, and spicy smoke linger on the finish. Forget Daenerys, this is the whisky of dragons."
