Notes from the Winemaker:
Bright red berry aromas and flavors lead this vivacious wine. It will develop in the bottle for 7 to 10 years.

Food pairing:
This versatile red wine will pair well with light red or white meat dishes and fowl. The more mature wine will complement highly flavored sauces.

The commune of Savigny-les-Beaune is in the north of the Cote de Beaune and produces 90% red wines. La Dominode has an eastern exposure and lies at the southern end of the commune on gravel soils that produce elegant wine. The Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in vats for up to 4 weeks, and then the wine is matured in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months before bottling.

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Aromas and flavors of currant, cherry, mineral and tobacco ply the sinewy texture of this red with searing intensity. Though taut and even austere now, this has fine balance and length. Best from 2022 through 2026. 350 cases made." - BS (May 31, 2018)

88-90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2015 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru La Dominode has the best bouquet of the three Savignys that I tasted from Louis Jadot, a melange of red and black fruit, a subtle dried rose petal note in the background. The palate is well balanced with a prickle of acidity on the entry that counterbalances the tart red cherry and strawberry fruit. There is good weight in the mouth, though like the Clos des Guettes, it just needs to carry a little more weight on the finish." - Neal Martin (30th Dec 2016)

88-90 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"Bright medium red. Slightly medicinal cast to the fruit-driven aromas of cherry liqueur, raspberry and cranberry. Juicy, dry and imploded; pungent and nicely delineated already but distinctly uncompromising owing to its strong mineral spine. Like Jadot's other 2015s from Savigny-les-Beaune, this is all about red fruits." - Stephen Tanzer (Jan 2017)
