Notes from the Winemaker:
« Clos de la Croix de Pierre» is a very well-balanced wine, very straight with a nice structure. The vine has been planted rather recently. It matches very well white meat, vegetable gratins and cheeses such as Comté and goat cheeses.

Vineyards situation:
The vineyards of Pernand-Vergelesses are located next to Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-les-Beaune, in a nice valley. They are very well oriented, facing East-South-Ouest. Their altitude varies from 260 to 380 m.

Characteristics:
The Clos de la Croix de Pierre is located next to the famous premier cru « En Caradeux ». It is not far from the very typical village of Pernand. The soil is calcarous and very stony on the surface. "Croix the Pierre" represents a big cross at the entrance of the vineyard. Most of this vineyard is planted with Pinot Noir.

Wine making:
The grapes are pressed and then put in French oak barrels during 15 to 18 months.

Preservation:
Pernand Croix de Pierre white will be able to keep between 5 to 10 years according to the vintage and the storage conditions

Ratings & Reviews

88-90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2016 Pernand-Vergelesses Clos de la Croix de Pierre was severely affected by the frost so that only one-third of the crop was produced. But I appreciate the aromatics here: very lifted, well defined and quite floral in nature, just a hint of baking powder in the background. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, nicely focused with a tang of bitter lemon on the finish lending a soupçon of tension. Very fine." - Neal Martin (29th Dec 2017)
