2013 Barolo: A Vintage To Remember

94 Points - Wine Spectator:
"A racy style, featuring blueberry, black currant, violet, tar and spice flavors allied to a linear frame. Balanced and complex, building to a long, mineral-tinged and mouthwatering finish. Best from 2021 through 2036. 900 cases made, 300 cases imported." - BS (Dec 31, 2017)

93 Points - Vinous Media:
"Claudio Icardi's 2013 Barolo Parej is gorgeous. A rush of rose petal and lavender lifts from the glass, followed by red berry flavors that are given an extra kick of energy from the bright acids. Medium in body and translucent in the glass, the Parej is super expressive today. A few more years in bottle should help smooth out the tannins and soften the acidity. Overall, the 2013 is a very pretty, charming Barolo that shows the more feminine side of Nebbiolo." -Antonio Galloni (Oct 2017)

93 Points - James Suckling:
"A ripe and juicy Barolo with strawberry, cherry and oyster shell character. Full body, round and chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Extremely well done. Drink or hold." - (Oct 20, 2017)

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Icardi's 2013 Barolo Parej offers an elegant and streamlined style that stands in contrast to the more extracted house style that we've seen across these new and old releases. This wine gives more breathing room to Nebbiolo, and the grape repays with enhanced and pure aromas. You get wild berry and dried cherry with subtle tones of toasted spice and grilled herb at the back." - Monica Larner (30th Apr 2019)
