Notes from the winemaker:
As we continue to unlock the magic of Blueline Estate, the 2019 walks the line of elegance and power creating a perfect balance. Aromatics of cocoa, wet gravel and rose petals waft with nuanced precision, winding through dramatic red and dark fruit tones. Sweet Bing cherry, red plum, cranberry and blackberry translate powerfully from nose to palate. Rich silky tannins are balanced with a tensional energy of mouthwatering natural acidity and trademark Blueline minerality.
Ratings & Reviews
98 Points - The Wine Independent:
The 2019 Blueline Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, with 2% Petit Verdot in the blend, is deep garnet-purple in color. After of swirl or two, it bursts with flamboyant notes of crushed blackcurrants, Morello cherries, and mulberries, leading to suggestions of wild thyme, tilled soil, and violets. The full-bodied palate is bright and vivacious, with electric black and red berry layers framed by fine-grained tannins and lovely tension, finishing long and minerally. 2025-2050.
97 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The 2019 Blueline Cabernet Sauvignon is another stunning wine in the lineup. Revealing a deep purple hue as well as beautiful cassis and blue-tinged fruits, it has lots of violet and lead pencil notes, medium to full body, perfect balance, and incredible tannins. A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec, and the balance Cabernet Franc and Merlot, it's going to deliver the goods for upwards of two decades." (12/21/21)
95-97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueline Estate reveals an opaque purple-black color, exploding from the glass with bombastic scents of crème de cassis, blackberry pie and chocolate-covered cherries, plus hints of Indian spices, menthol and licorice, with a touch of sandalwood. Full-bodied, concentrated and impressively opulent, the palate features layer upon layer of exotic spices intertwined with black and blue fruits, velvety tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long, long, long." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Jul 2021)
"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueline is the most elegant and nuanced of the three Cabernets in the range. Blueberry jam, creme de cassis, lavender, licorice and spice open first, framed by silky tannins that give the 2019 a feeling of finesse that is impossible to miss." - Antonio Galloni (Jan 2022)
