About This Wine:
Traditionally dominated by Clairette, Grenache Blanc, and Bourboulenc, since 1991, the Guigals have searched for and encouraged plantings of Viognier for their Cotes du Rhone Blanc, and with the 2012 vintage the wine has 65% Viognier, complemented notably by Marsanne from St.-Péray and Roussanne, along with some other white Rhone grapes depending on the vintage.

Fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks, this wine is fresh, rich, and complex, offering aromas of honeysuckle, pear, kiwi, and minerals. This Côtes du Rhône Blanc, made with a Northern Rhone approach, sets the standard for the appellation. Serve this dry white with appetizers, grilled fish, or spicy Asian preparations of all kinds.

Tasting Notes:
Eye : Yellow gold, clear and brilliant.
Nose : Freshness marked by the distinctive aromas of Viognier; white flowers, apricot, acacia and white peach.
Palate : Fruity with plenty of richness and body.
Overall : A well-rounded wine with elegance, strength and balance.

Ratings & Reviews

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
Another rock solid vintage for this cuvee, the 2014 Cotes du Rhone Blanc (65% Viognier) offers terrific clarity and purity in its tangerine, citrus and orange blossom, in a clean, crisp, elegant package. It’s a great value to enjoy over the coming 2-3 years.

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
Guigal is one of those firms that seems to handle whites, reds and rosés with equal aplomb. This white has a fair dose of Viognier, which gives it a floral, apricotty nose, a rich, creamy palate and a spicy, gingery finish. Drink now.
