Distillery Notes:

Grand Mayan’s handcrafted tequila is produced with the purest, central-highland Blue Agave with the highest standards of production. Based in Guadalajara, the capital of Jalisco, Mexico, Grand Mayan takes painstaking pride in not only the tequila itself but also in its presentation.

Each unique ceramic decanter is handcrafted, individually numbered, and painted by local Mexican artists in Mexico City, making each bottle a piece of artwork, but it’s what’s inside that is truly a masterpiece.

A new classification added in the summer of 2006, labeling any Tequila aged more than 3 years, an "Ultra Aged", and is so rich that it becomes difficult to distinguish it from other quality aged spirits.

Grand Mayan Ultra Aged Tequila is dark in color with the sweet aroma of nuts and a distinctive scent. The taste is extraordinary, very smooth and pleasurable to the palate.

95 Points, Top 100 Spirits Of 2019 - Wine Enthusiast

"The hand-painted ceramic bottle is gorgeous, but so is what's in the bottle: a blend of three-four- and five-year old Tequilas. Look for a deep amber hue and complex aromas that unfold jalapeño, brown sugar and cocoa. The palate-coating, slightly viscous palate opens with clove and coriander, warming to cocoa, browned butter, and sarsaparilla, and finishes on black pepper and cinnamon. The overall effect almost reads like a Tequila-based amaro."

"On the nose, there’s an immediate rush of pepper — black pepper and some cayenne, lightly smoky. Earthy and pastoral, this is as savory an extra anejo as I’ve ever encountered. The palate brightens up with notes of lemon peel and a touch of saline to lift up the earthiness of the tequila. Soon things retreat to those savory elements — toasted wood, leather, turned earth, and bell pepper. Time in glass allows a touch of sweetness to emerge in the form of brown butter and a slightly earthy honey element, which helps lift the finish." - Drinkhacker

"Pouring an enticing amber color, the nose offers vivid aromas of grilled lime, brown sugar, cumin, roasted chilis with suggestions of savory herbs. The offers showcases a lovely smoky albeit sweet profile with a long, earth toned finish. A sipping tequila that is sure to make a great pairing with grilled meats or vegetables." - Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2022
