About the Whisky:
The Glenfiddich 14 Year Old Bourbon Barrel Reserve Scotch whisky is a rich, sweet and vibrant single malt that delivers complex flavors of woody spices with ripe summer fruit. It’s an expression that will inspire Scotch and bourbon lovers alike, to Rethink Whisky. Our Bourbon Barrel Reserve is aged for 14 years in ex-bourbon American Oak casks and then finished in charred new American Oak barrels supplied by The Kelvin Cooperage in Louisville, Kentucky. Best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, with a splash of water, or with club soda to expand the flavor.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Vibrant vanilla notes, hints of citrus, caramelized brown sugar and cinnamon. Baked apple and ripe summer fruits and balanced with the rich oaky aromas.
Taste: Beautifully rich and sweet with layers of creamy toffee, woody spices, candied orange peel and fresh toasted oak.
Finish: Long lasting with lingering sweetness.
Awards/Reviews:
Gold - Intl Spirits Challenge 2024
93 Points - Intl Wine & Spirits Competition 2024
" Rich notes of sticky toffee and poached pears, balanced by hints of cinnamon and black tea leaves. A classic blend of dark fruit and sweet honey follows beautifully."
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast
"Aged 14 years in former Bourbon barrels, this is an amber-colored whisky that's scented with vanilla and peach. The palate is also peachy, highlighted by hints of almond, oak and sandalwood. The finish is drying and lightly spiced."
Value Pick - Whisky Advocate
"After 14 years in bourbon wood, this was finished in heavily-charred new American oak barrels, sourced from Kelvin Cooperage in Louisville, Kentucky. Malt, vanilla, and fudge on the nose, with ripe apples and lively oak. Toffee, caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon on the palate, while the finish is nutty, with notes of char. The closest Glenfiddich gets to producing a bourbon!"
